AUGUST:

Ohio Wins -  The statewide coordinated campaign to elect Dr. Amy Acton for Governor, send Sherrod Brown back to the Senate and keep Marcy Kaptur as our Congresswoman will be holding weekend canvassing on the following dates: 8/1, 8/2, 8/8, 8/9, 8/15, 8/16, 8/22, 8/23, 8/29, 8/30.

  • Tuesday - 8/4 Amy Acton Meet and Greet - 5:30 - 7 pm (location of event will be emailed to you upon signing up)

    • Please join the Lucas County Democratic Party and local community leaders for a meet & greet with Dr. Amy Acton in Toledo! Sign up, spread the word, and invite a neighbor.

    •  There is limited parking, so carpooling is encouraged. There is also street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

  • Wednesday - 8/5 Toledo Persists & LCDP Postcard Party - 6 - 8 pm - @ Kent Branch Library, 3101 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH 43610

    • Join us for another postcard party! We will be writing postcards to infrequent voters across Ohio, encouraging them to get out and vote in November. We will also be writing postcards to voters across NW Ohio encouraging them to support progressive candidates.

    • Postcards, scripts, and pens will be provided. Stamps are appreciated, but not required. Snacks to share are welcome

    • Celebrate Toledo Pride week with the Library at our annual "Family Pride Night!" Friends and family of all ages are welcome. This year's event will be held on the front lawn of Sanger Branch Library, featuring fun engagement activities and crafts from both TLCPL and numerous community partners

    • What does the political landscape look like for women in Northwest Ohio for 2026? We will also discuss the issues and topics that are affecting women, including the SAVE America Act, recent Supreme Court decisions, the Voting Rights Act, and more.

  • Friday - 8/14 - Democratic Women in Action Annual 4 Person Golf Scramble  

    • 8 am Registration / 9 am Shotgun start 

    • A portion of all proceeds go to the YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter, Leading Families Home, and Susan G. Komen.

    • $360 per Foursome / $95 for Individual Golfers

  • Friday - Sunday - 8/14-8/16 - Save the Date - Toledo Pride Weekend Festival

  • Friday - 8/14 - Toledo Pride Festival (KICK-OFF & NITE GLO 5K)

    • Family-friendly Nite Glo 5K and one-mile fun run, then the official Pride Kick-Off Party at Promenade Park. Local Bands, Drag, DJs, Food Trucks.

  • 8/14 Pri-Day Palooza Family Pride Event 5 pm @ Trinity Episcopal Church 

    • It's a Family Pride Event! All ages are invited to Trinity's Plaza for fun, games, drag story hour, food, and much, much, more! FREE to the community. Doors open at 5 pm

  • 8/15 Toledo Pride Parade 

    • Line-up 11:00 am (20th & Adams) / Step-off 12:00 pm 

    • LCDP will have a float in the parade; all endorsed candidates and local democrats are welcome to walk with the party. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water and sunscreen. If you are able to bring some candy to throw, that is a huge help. 

  • 8/15 Pride Parade Open House 10 am - 2 pm @ Trinity Episcopal, 316 Adams, Toledo, OH 43604

    • Stop in to the best cooling station on Adams Street! Trinity's doors will swing wide open from 10-2 pm for the Toledo Pride Parade. Come cool off with water and air conditioning- we even have real bathrooms! You might even get a face tattoo!

  • Saturday - 8/15 - Toledo Pride (PARADE & FESTIVAL) 

    • Toledo Pride Parade marches down Adams St. at noon. The festival opens at 1PM at Promenade Park. Live music, vendors, family fun, 2 stages, chill zones.

    • LCDP will have a float in the parade; all endorsed candidates and local democrats are welcome to walk with the party. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water and sunscreen. If you are able to bring some candy to throw, that is a huge help. 

  • Sunday - 8/16 - Toledo Pride Festival (BIG RAINBOW BAR CRAWL)

    • Wrap the weekend with the Big Rainbow Bar Crawl through

       downtown. One wristband, drink & food specials at every participating bar. (21+)

  • 8/17 August Bench to the Block  - 6 - 7:30 pm @ Sophia Quintero Art & Cultural Center 

    • Join us for another Bench to the Block event to meet and hear from local judges and judicial candidates. Speakers will be discussing what different courts do, how their decisions affect everyday life in Lucas County, and what they see happening in our community.
