Monday Seminar Series: Labor Relations

Now entering its second year, the first Monday Seminar Series put on by the LCDP will be on Labor Relations.

This is an opportunity for you to hear from labor leaders on what motivates them to get involved with politics, how it serves their members' interests, and where the money comes from that they donate to candidates. Further, you will learn how approach organized labor for the first time, and how to communicate effectively throughout your campaign and term as an elected official.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who will be in a position to make decisions on campaigns, not just potential candidates. You will learn best practices, have questions answered, and clear up misunderstandings BEFORE they hurt your candidacy, and by extension, the Democratic Party.

Organized labor has been a major stakeholder for decades in the Democratic Party nationally and locally. Moving into the future, our partnership with labor is as important as it has ever been. We want to work to prepare every candidate and staffer on working respectfully and effectively with these partners. All Lucas County elected officials as well as 2017 candidates are asked to attend.

2017 seminars will be held at the LCDP offices at 1817 Madison Ave.
